Blue Labour is run solely by volunteers in their spare time. Unlike other groups within Labour we do not have any wealthy donors or institutions willing to fund operations. We are working to build Blue Labour in 2017 so that it can grow and offer more opportunities for people to participate.
In 2017 Blue Labour will be focused on the following activities:
- Establishing local and regional groups to organise around – without central funding it’s the only way we will grow and, in any case, we’re all about devolution. The excellent work by Blue Labour North West is a good example of what can be done.
- Building up Blue Labour voices in policy debates within Labour – there is a lot going on, there is a lot changing and Blue Labour’s voice is essential if the party is to become relevant again. We are looking to support people who are willing to get involved in public debates and discussions within the party.
- Building Blue Labour’s infrastructure – as you can tell we need to spend some time fixing up the website. Apart from that there are other projects we have not been able to complete because of a lack of expertise and capacity. The aim is to develop these in 2017 to respond to the growth in interest and activity.
Please let us know what you can do. Any help no matter how small can make a big difference.
